What time is the worship service?
We worship together Sunday mornings at 10:50, Sunday evenings at 6pm and Wednesday evenings at 6:30. We have Bible study classes for all ages that meet at 9:30 on Sunday morning.
What are the services like?
Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise, with a variety of traditional and contemporary Christian music provided by our choir, orchestra, soloists and ensembles. We have two large video screens which will have the words to any songs the congregation sings.
Where is Sandy Plains Baptist Church?
Sandy Plains Baptist Church is located in Marietta, Georgia, just north of Atlanta.
From Interstate 75 north of Atlanta take exit 267A. Go north on Highway 5 (Canton Highway). Turn right at the first light (Sandy Plains Road). Sandy Plains Baptist Church is north of hte intersection of Sandy Plains Road and Post Oak Tritt Road, across the street from Bank of America.
Where should I park?
Parking spaces are reserved for guests in the main parking lot north of the church.
What happens when I get there?
You will be welcomed by a greeter when you arrive. They will assist you with directions, give you information about our Bible study classes and answer any questions you may have.
What about children?
At Sandy Plains, we love children! We want you and your child(ren) to have the best experience possible. We provide childcare for birth through kindergarten during our worship service at 10:50 a.m. A greeter will be able to assist you and direct you to the appropriate classroom. We also have Bible study classes at 9:30 a.m. for children from birth to sixth grade. If you prefer, your children are welcome to stay with you during the service.
What will happen before the service begins?
As you enter the Worship Center, you will receive a copy of our weekly worship guide which gives you information on the many happenings at Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Many of the weekly events are also displayed on the facility's video screens. Don't worry, though if you arrive just a little after the service has started. An usher will help you find a vacant seat.
How are guests greeted during the services?
During the worship service, a staff member will greet our guest from the pulpit. You will be asked to fill out the guest registration card on the tear-off section of the worship guide you recieve when you entered the Worship Center. However, you do not have to register or sign your name to anything if you do not want to. We ask that you drop the card in the offering plate as your offering, so that we may get to know your needs. If you are visiting from out of town and planning on moving to the Marietta area, we would love to know that. You will not be singled out or asked to stand to be recognized as a guest.
How does someone join Sandy Plains?
At the end of his message, the pastor will offer an invitatioin to anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him. He will also ask those who would like to become part of the Sandy Plains church family to make that known by coming forward. A song of commitment is sung by the congregation, during which time people are invited to come to the front of the Worship Center and talk with a staff member.
Decisions that can be made for membership:
1. BY PROFESSION OF FAITH - If you are not yet a Christian but would like to be, or if you are a Christian but have never been baptized by immersion as a beliver, our pastor will pray with you and guide you in your decision.
2. BY TRANSFER OF LETTER - If you are a Christian and a member of a church of like faith and order, we will write to the church where youa re a member and request that a letter of transfer be sent.
3. BY STATEMENT - If you are a Christian and have been baptized as a beliver according to the scriptures, and do not either have current membership in a church or are currently a member of a church that does not grant letters of transfer, you can receive membership by your affirmation of the above.
